One of the first questions we usually get asked about is insurance coverage and fees. For your convenience, Sioux Empire Christian Counseling accepts the following insurance:

  • -Initial Assessment Appointment (1st session): $225/hour

    -Individual, Family or Couples Counseling: $225/hour

    -Miscellaneous Services: $225/hour, prorated

    -A cash pay (self-pay) rate of $150/session can be arranged with your therapist

    SELF-PAY CLIENTS MUST PAY 100% AT TIME OF SERVICE. Insurance clients must pay co-pays at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, credit card and HSA.

  • If you have a health insurance policy, it may provide some coverage for mental health treatment.

    We will submit claims on your behalf. However, YOU (not your insurance company) ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FULL PAYMENT OF THE FEES. Please contact your insurance company to learn about your mental health benefits and co-payments and to determine if pre-authorization is required for mental health services. Please keep the following things in mind:

    KNOW YOUR COPAY/DEDUCTIBLE. As is standard practice in healthcare, co-pays must be paid on the date of service.

    Know if pre-authorization is required before your appointment. Sessions not covered by insurance due to pre-authorization not being made will be billed at the full service fee.

    BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD to your first appointment. A photocopy is needed for claim submission.

  • If you have Medicare or Medicaid, you may have coverage for mental health treatment.

    We will submit claims on your behalf. However, YOU (not Medicare/Medicaid) ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FULL PAYMENT OF THE FEES. Please contact them to learn about your mental health benefits and co-payments and to determine if pre-authorization is required for mental health services. Please keep the following things in mind:

    KNOW YOUR CO-PAY/DEDUCTIBLE. As is standard practice in healthcare, co-pays must be paid on the date of service.

    GET A REFERRAL FROM YOUR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER. Medicaid requires that we have it before we can submit any claims. It can be faxed to us or you can bring it with you to your first session. Sessions not covered by insurance due to pre-authorization not being made will be billed at the full-service fee.

    BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD to your first appointment. A photocopy is needed for claim submission. If we don’t have a photocopy of your card(s) we will be unable to submit claims on your behalf and you will be responsible for any fees incurred.

  • If you are uninsured or choose not to file your counseling sessions through your insurance company, we offer a $150/HOUR FLAT RATE for all counseling services.

  • Consistent attendance at your sessions is CRITICAL TO YOUR THERAPEUTIC SUCCESS. The session cancellation policy will be applied in all non-emergent circumstances. The session cancellation policy is as follows:

    Once your standing appointment hour is scheduled, if you are unable to make the appointment WE REQUIRE 24 HOUR ADVANCED NOTICE of the cancellation. If your appointment is on a Monday or day after a holiday, your appointment is required to be canceled 24-hours in advance on the previous business day.

    INSURANCE CAN NOT BE USED FOR SESSIONS THAT ARE MISSED. In the event that you do not provide 24-hour advanced notice (even if you just don’t come), you will be responsible for paying the $100 SESSION CANCELLATION FEE.
